Morganna Drake

An OC of mine, the Queen of Pirates herself, Morganna Drake, Scourge of the Spanish Main!

From left to right, Red Morgan, a.k.a the She-Dragon/Daughter of the Dragon, Lady Christine 'Black Bess' De Burgh, Isabella (nee Martinez) and her husband Don Hernando Battista de Santiago, a wealthy merchant who made his fortune in the New World.

Upper right hand corner, Viking Raven banner, adopted by Morgan as one of the insignia for her flagship 'Raven'. In black and white, it is the pirate battle flag for her Sea Witches.

This is a fantasy action tale, combining Mission:Impossible, G.I.Joe and a bit of James Bond with swashbuckling & sorcery action set in the 17th Century.

The Sea Witches are an all-female pirate crew led by Morganna Drake whose use of weird and wonderful contraptions and mask disguises (e.g. knock-out gas and drugs to render a target vessel's crew unconscious so that the Sea Witches can plunder the ship without opposition, 'Morganna/Morgan' being seen in different places at the same time), leads to accusations of witchcraft and darkest sorcery (cue Monty Python Spanish Inquisition sketch). Morganna has a secret pirate lair and a brilliant 'Q'-like inventor who creates her mask disguises for her (latex from Brazilian rubber trees), as well as other insane devices. Mask disguises are used for infiltrating targets, e.g. gaining access to forts, treasure galleons and merchantmen.

'Red Morgan' is a reverse 'Agent Diana Prince'. The Pirate Queen/Wonder Woman is the disguise, Lady Christine is the real Morganna Drake (named after the sorceress Morgaine le Fay and of course, Sir Francis Drake).

'Don Hernando' is her 'legit' cover when operating in the Spanish Main. He is a close family friend of the Governor General based in Cartagena de Indias. 'Isabella' is used when she wants to dress up and go about town in style. 'Isabella', a close friend of Maria, the GG’s daughter, is also often invited to the Governor's mansion when Don Hernando is 'away on business'.
